Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Jurnal Konstitusi is a quarterly journal for disseminating the results of research or conceptual studies on the constitution and decisions of the Constitutional Court. Journal of the Constitution published four numbers in a year (March, June, September, and December). The Articles published have topics about disseminating Constitutional Court Decisions of Republic Indonesia and other; constitutional laws. The journal is aimed at experts, academicians, researchers, practitioners, state officials, non-governmental organizations, and observers of constitutional law. We are concerned about plagiarism issues, and the articles should not be published anywhere else.

Since the first edition of 2022, the procedure for writing and submitting manuscripts in the Jurnal Konstitusi is as follows:

  • The submitted manuscripts are original scientific works and do not contain elements of plagiarism.
  • The manuscript is written in Bahasa or English.
  • The authors who are not native speakers of English need to seek the assistance of a native speaker to proofread their articles before submitting them to the committee when it uses English.
  • The opening section of the manuscript includes Article Title, Author Name, Author Institution, Author Institution Address, Author Email Address, Abstract, and Keywords.
  • The abstract is written clearly and completely describes the article's contents in Bahasa and English. The abstract contains a maximum of 150 words.
  • Keywords contain between 3-5 terms in Bahasa and English.
  • Research Article
        The guideline for the research article is as follows:

  • For submissions to issues published from 2022 onwards, the Jurnal Konstitusi uses Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (full note). Cite only items that you have read and written on footnotes. Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc. Use other published articles in the same journal as models. The way of writing references is first categorized and then sorted alphabetically by the author. References that can be referred to are all publications in the last 10 (ten) years, except for unique references that have never been reissued. The reference list must be 80% of national and international journals, thesis, dissertation, and proceedings; 20% of Bibliographies come from books or anything else except Wikipedia and personal blogs.

  • Figures and Tables; The figures should be readable and at least have a resolution of 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) for good printing quality. Table made with the open model (without the vertical lines)

  • Main Headings of Article; Following main headings should be provided in the article while preparing. Main headings, sub-headings and sub-sub headings should be numbered in the article with the following example:

  • Manuscripts in document files (.doc) are submitted through the open journal system (OJS):
  • Prospective authors should submit the manuscript ONLY by submission system We DO NOT accept any submissions via email at all. 
  • The editorial board selects and edits the submitted manuscript without changing the substance. Published manuscripts receive an honorarium, and unpublished manuscripts will be returned or notified to the author.
